A lung or my stomach, maybe even a throat removal.

The wisdom of nations lies in their proverbs, which are brief and pithy.William Penn
The only medicine for suffering, crime, and all the other woes of mankind, is wisdom.Thomas Huxley
A wise man learns by the mistakes of others,a fool by his own.Latin Proverb

Sick puppy is me.
Finally went to the doctor yesterday morning. The night before was horrible with me coughing so much that sleep was almost impossible for me and the rest of the family. Coughing's been so bad that my stomach feels like I've been doing more than 100 sit-ups at one go... or something along those lines... at one point, it felt like I was going to cough out my lung, my stomach or my throat... maybe even all 3... bleah~
The clinic was full to the door with children and their parents/grandparents.
Thank God the clinic is just within the neighbourhood if not I would be sicker now, breathing all those germs from the other patients and passing on my own virus.
Spent some waiting time at home instead, having a ‘nice to throat’ lunch.
Went back down and waited another 10 minutes before the doctor saw me.
I now have 4 types of medication and am not allowed to speak for a few days.
Rest is most welcome and not talking will be a challenge, but I’ve done that before, so it’s a walk in the park yes?

With a drowsy body and mind, I still headed out to Kovan to supervise the class.
Some of my kiddos will refuse to turn up at training if I am not there.
That’s something to smile about, coz it means that they’ve grown attached to me. Gives me a warm sensation no?

Looking forward to the weekend.
Plenty has been planned and there is much walking to be done.
Went to FunkyB on Tuesday before WWS to get my shirts =]
CNY preparation (regarding clothes) is checked off my list!
-does the dance of joy-

I want to take up a 3rd language… guess will have to wait till after CNY is over… more cash and more time then… I hope. Hehe~

One more week before the year of the Rat comes!
I was born during the ‘tail of Rat’ year so means that this coming lunar year is mine! =]
So many interesting things are going to happen.
There’s not going to be a dull moment… I can so feel it man~
Then again, it could be the numbing effect of the medication doing its work on my system. ;p

The joy of the Lord is my strength and my body is in His healing hands =]
Onward charge!

Hair yesterday, gone today

It is easier to be wise for others than for ourselves.Francois De La Rochefoucauld
The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook.William James
The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is silence, the second listening, the third memory, the fourth practice, the fifth teaching others.Solomon Ibn Gabriol
Years teach us more than books.Berthold Auerbach

The month is coming to an end.
Pay from my part time job has already been cashed in.
The job search continues.
Depressing as it is at time, it shall continue.
Cannot give up.
Will not give up.
I refuse to give up.

Been doing a lot of things within the month to keep myself occupied in the mean time:
WWS school programs
Out with TKD kiddos
Supplementary grading
Career fair
Dinner with relatives
Outings with Hong Yeol, Kelly, TKM and YKM.
Cut my hair
Fell sick… still in that mode at the moment
Running around like a headless chicken as usual
Poomsae refresher course
Tuition sessions
Shopping

The normal process of my body is to fall sick when I have an irregular schedule.
I pray that the pattern ends very soon.

Sunday service yesterday was a different from my normal.
Why?
Because I was late for service.
Yes, for the first time in many years, I was late for service. So late in fact, that I missed out on more than half of Ps Peter’s sermon. X.x
Spent most of the service coughing and trying not to cough.
Sitting behind Sera who was also coughing and realized that a lot of people are also falling sick.
It must be a big bug going around… yuck…
Headed off to Trinity @ Paya Lebar to see the FunkB shop.
I had wanted to buy some shirts but the store only accepted Visa (which I do not have) and cash (that too I was not in possession of). -.-lll
The good thing was that they were kind enough to reserve the t-shirts I want for me. I shall pick them up within the week and add them to my ever-growing collection of shirts in the cupboard. Fret not, I have already started the dumping of older shirts in order to make way for the newbies =]
Made for home and lunch before heading out again for training @ Kovan.
Coughing is still a big pain.
Especially when I cough until my sides hurt and feel like I am going to hurl with the next heave of my lungs.
If I am not wrong, there is a strip in Liberty Meadows where the pig coughs his lungs out and the dog runs away with it… doesn’t seem that funny at the moment.. -.-

That said, I would like to make sure I get my ‘to-do’ list over and done with by today… so it’s time for me to sign off and dive into work.

The joy of the Lord is my strength!

HighjacK~

I just borrowed Shang Ming's laptop!
Am typing this as fast as possible before the school program starts... there will be kiddos from a new school joining us today.
Projected numbers are 40 kids and 2 Teachers.. so exciting... and there are a lot of things to be done... what program time Shang Ming is talking about i have not the faintest idea... haha...

Yes, i am aware that i do not exactly make sense because I am typing this in the spur of the moment... haha

Yang Mui~

2 - 3

"Our birthdays are feathers in the broad wing of time."
"Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words."

Now it's official.
Sharon has lived 23 years on planet Earth.

It was a good day.
Created by God nonetheless ;)

Ran into Annie at the bus stop in the morning on the way to WWS for the first school program.
School program was a success and we managed to get the message out to more than 120 students.
Went for lunch with the WWS lot at Leng Kee Restaurant @ Robertson Quay.
Headed back in time for the second school program.
Spent most of the day in the sun - hence the red tan now.
Cycled.
Took pictures all over the place.
Learnt how to do in-line skating - THANKS IVAN! :D
Ran around doing my part.
Headed home for dinner with my family, which included my brother's family.
Took pictures with my family.
Now on the computer typing and getting some other stuff prepared for tomorrow.

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who were a part of my day:
Family
WWS friends
My friends who sms-ed me.
Friends who wished me online.
Friends who just made me keep smiling =)
and of course, my great big awesome Heavenly Father!
-hugs all round-

It was a good day.
A very good day.
Thanks once again!

Hearts!

Two Three

"Inside every older person is a younger person - wondering what the hell happened."
- Cora Harvey Armstrong

I am now 23!
(Erm... actually for the official change in age, it would be in around 11 hours time, but I doubt I will be able to post an entry during that time :p)
Hehe...
Thank You God for all my friends and my family.
The life I have led thus far has been nothing short of a blessing! :D

Just returned home from dinner with Yingz and Joyce at the Beach Road steamboat place.
Just sat there, talked and ate for more than 3 hours straight.
Heavenly company.
Miss my girls...
Took pictures of them and the food but forgot to take a group photo... geez~
Gives us a perfect excuse to meet up again before the month is up though =]

Spent Thursday at home and at WWS as well.
Shall be spending my birthday in the same places.
Yeap, no place I'd rather be than at my second home.

The night is young.
Tomorrow is gonna be awesome.
I have the knowledge that God's in charge of the day - that alone makes it perfect already! :)

< 24 hours to go..

"If the only place where I could see you was in my dreams, I'd sleep forever." - Anonymous

In less than 24 hours, I will say goodbye to 22 and add replace the second 2 with a 3.
Gwad... it seems like yesterday when I celebrated my 21st birthday.
That birth month was really one to remember... this one is too, but obviously each year, memories made get sweeter by the dozen.

Let's see what I've been up too since 2008 made its appearance:
Sent Harvey off at T2
Celebrated my Birthday early with Shoon, Yilinn, Nurul, Xj and Shang Ming
Sent Shoon off at T3
Met up with Hong Yeol
Ran into a lot of old school mates - Kelly, Sheryl, Lydia, etc
Attended the Singapore Environment Lecture
WWS-ing
Job interviews
Shopping spree madness
Reunion dinner
Sleeping late
Out with YKM
Waking up early
Panda Eyes
Facial appointment (been more than 5 years since the last time I went for a facial. Can imagine how much endurance was required... yes, the things ladies do for beauty~)
Red eyes

Been trying to get a grip over the past few days... reason only known to some...
Getting lost a lot.
Keep taking the wrong buses while trying to get back home.
Trial and error is good for the soul.
Not panicking is important too.
Of the things I should have said, and the things I wanted/should have done. All the chances are gone now, what remains is in the future and the question of whether I would be willing to take the risk ...
-bangs head against wall-
it's not supposed to make sense is it?
Gah... its just me lah...

Picked up my birthday cake today right after training.
Cheese cake from White Tangerine in all it's cheesy glory.
It was heavy ok... not joking!
Can't wait for the family dinner =]
Gonna be having an extra cake around to share with my family.

Went for the Singapore Environmental Conference/Lecture today.
It was an eye opener.
The topic was: Biodiversity and Climate Change.
I was expecting to be blown away by the insights of the people who were involved with the conference .... (the writer has decided to sensor herself for the sake of self preservation).
-hides from the press-
Had lunch with Annie right after the conference at the local coffee shop.
The XO fish noodles were heavenly. At S$7 per bowl, they had better be.
The fish slices were fresh and the soup did not disappoint.
Shiok food, shall have to make a trip back to Bueno Vista to some time... hmmm....
Anyone interested? XD

Went to view the centralised black belt grading on the 6th of Jan.
Xiang dang nian.
One year ago the very same day was my own black belt grading.
The grading itself hearkened many memories and at the same time, rang home some very sad truths.
It is now very apparent that I am no longer considered part of a group which used to be very close to my heart.
Change is the most consistent thing tis' true. Nothing will stay blue forever.
Move on girl.
Life's not gonna wait for you.
-slaps self for digression-
ANYWAY, the point of mentioning centralised grading is that my student went for the very first Junior black centralised examinations.
Yeap.
This here coach sent her first 'baby' out to battle.
I am proud to say that she did her best under the circumstances. Now all that is left is a few more days to see the results of her hard work.
Will be sending some more students into battle soon.
Have to make sure they are fully prepared.

This Sunday is the Supplementary grading for Kovan kiddos.
Hope my blood will not spurt out of my veins.
Sometimes I wonder if caring so much about them is really worth the effort.
Especially those who do not take pride in what they are doing.
I was on the verge of screaming at one of em' punks today.
****** brought things too far.
If ****** is not careful, ******* will get into a lot of trouble.
No, not with me.
Never me.
Better pray it not be me.
God give me strength.

The challenge has been issued.
Shall I throw down the gauntlet?
Drawing upon my Lord God Almighty.
May more trails come my way, so that I give it all up to Him.
Lean on Him and grow in Him.
Love is the reason I am here.

Yay for you Adelyn!
Going to Australia~
Hoot! So exciting... how much is the entire trip going to set you back by?

Yang Mui~
Hope you have a good time in Taiwan!
Wish I could be there with you... ;)

Shoon,
How's Amsterdam?
The weather chilly?
Been for the orientation for foreign students le?
How many other Singaporeans are there?=]

Looking forward to the days to come.
The joy of the Lord is my stength!

Hello 2008

I Am the New Year - Bible Illustrator
I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.
I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months.
All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination.
All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.
All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have—these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose.
I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, "Behold, I make all things new."

Happy New Year 2008 Everyone!

I was in church last night for the Watch Night service.
Played a small role in the BCM item and made a small contribution to the multitude of testimonies for the entire year of 2007.
It was a nice experience.
Hung out with some of my cell members and then hitched the long ride home on the church bus.
Man, am I grateful that they stopped at my bus stop... hehe...

Got home at such a late hour that I ended up sleeping till 12pm.
I kid you not.
The bedroom has ways of making me believe that which is a time that is not at the another time.
(make sense?)

Been online since lunch time trying to get my phone and other items in order for the newness of the year.
Its so exciting to begin a new year, so many possibilities to be realised!

Hope all your celebrations were just as memorable~ :D

People,
new year means extra chances to meet up!
Catch my drift?
Heehee...
Chiong ah!

Blessings~
